Unit 4

  1. Describe your experience. Did you find it beneficial? Difficult? Why or why not? Would you recommend this to others? Why or why not?
  2. What is the concept of "mental workout"? What does the research indicate are the proven benefits of a mental workout? How can you implement mental workouts to foster your psychological health?
My experience with the love and kindness exercise was weird and difficult. Although it is nice to think about someone special in a loving and caring way, I did not feel it necessary, nor did I agree with taking in someones pain and distress. This part was very weird. I tried my best to experience the exercise but the whole taking in darkness destroyed it for me. I would not recommend this to anyone. I do not think it would help anyone.

The concept of mental workout is the act of mind training. Developing and controlling the mind through exercises like visualization, meditation, and prayer. Research shows that exercises for the mind like practicing loving kindness increased the abilities of the mind. According to Antoine Lutz a compassionate mental state caused a higher order of mental integration (2006). I can foster psychological health by practicing loving kindness and forgiving others.

Unit 3

How I rate my physical well being 5, spiritual well being 7and psychological well being 7. I rate myself this way because as I develop my spiritual wellness it is affecting a change in my psychological and physical well being. I have not been working out as I should so I rated myself as a 5.
A goal for myself is to develop an exercise plan that works for me. I will start 6am workouts. Spiritually to spend more time studying in the word of God 4am study time and psychologically to continue mind training and develop my mind on a greater level. Reading a book once a week.

The relaxation exercise is not easy for me. I did not like the idea of focusing on colors. The overall idea of this exercise is relaxing but not easy for me.

Hello Everyone Welcome to New Life

Hello everyone I would like to welcome you to my world. As I look at life's challenges I discovered that their is a better way to handle them. I am taking control of my thought process and meditating on what is more important. I meditate on what things are lovely, just, good, honest, faithful and pure. These are the things I think on and because I do my life has changed. I am not stressed. I am more focused then ever before. My life has changed for the better and I am loving it. In the relaxation process what I meditate on is very important and is what makes the difference.
