- Practice the universal Loving Kindness (meditation) exercise on p. 93.
- Complete the Integral Assessment discussed in chapter 11 (p.115).
- Describe the exercise and assessment process. What did you discover about yourself? What area have you chosen to be a focus of growth and development? Why? What are some specific exercises or activities that you can implement to foster greater wellness in this area?
The loving kindness exercise I already practice. I make it a point to pray for others, encourage, forgive, and help those whom I come in contact with. I do for people I see an do not see. The integral assessment is taking an inventory of the areas of your life and making a determination of what needs attention Dacher (2009). I would begin by looking at what makes me feel sad, angry, afraid, frustrated, worried, and feel inadequate. As I examine these areas I look at nutrition, exercise, my mind, and spiritual aspects of my life. In my life I have discovered that I need to focus on my mind. I know what to do. Focus is my issue. I will concentrate on activities such as visualization. I will write down or place pictures on the wall to keep the goal in focus. The more I see it, it will keep me focus on accomplishing goals.
